Housing and Food Services strives to provide a safe, inclusive, comfortable, and supportive living environment for all students residing on campus. We offer the option of gender-neutral housing for students who, because of gender identify or gender expression, prefer this option. This allows students who identify as transgender* and gender non-confirming* the ability to choose a roommate of any gender.
Housing and Food Services employs one general maintenance employee to work on daily and routine residence hall problems. Some issues require outside vendors. Housing and Food Services has contracts with other Penn State departments and vendors to address certain areas, such as telephone service, cable TV, Ethernet connections, laundry facilities, and card access.
McKeesport Hall, a traditional coed residence hall, accommodates two students per bedroom and features common bathrooms on each wing of the building's three floors. The residence hall provides 24-hour card access, emergency call boxes, laundry facilities, vending machines, and a central lobby area. The building has a game room, TV room, study room, and updated furniture in the common areas.
